| > Firstly, you need to confirm your move in date as far in advance as possible. |

| > If you have one, Sort out the contents in your garage. |

| Up to 2 Weeks prior to move |

| > Dismantle self-assembly furniture, unless your removals company have already agreed to do this for you. |

| > Arrange to disconnect your kitchen appliances, including the washing machine, ensuring securing of the drum |

 |
| |
|
|
| > Arrange to have the gas, electricity, telephone and water meters read in advance. |
|
 |
| |

|
| > We advise that you start running down freezers at this point as manufacturers and the Trade Association advise against moving freezers in a full or frozen state. |
|
 |
| |
|
|
| > Clear the loft unless your removals company has already agreed to do this for you. |

 |

| > Take down any sheds, greenhouse, etc that you may own. |
|
 |
| |
|
|
| > Drain fuel from lawn mowers/motor cycles. |

 |
| |

| > Take down any fixtures you will be taking with you |

 |

| > If its needed, make plans for your younger children to be looked after on the move day. Read our Moving With Children guide for more information. |

| > For fabrics that are being placed into store, we recommend an anti-moth treatment. |

| > If you are moving in or out of a flat, arrange to have use of the manual override key or priority use of the lift. |
